The Reishi mushroom, also known as Ling Zhi, has a 4000 year history of usage in China and Japan. During the Ming Dynasty, many people endured lives full of great hardship and travelled enormous distances in order to find and procure the famous 'red mushroom'.
Reishi is a powerful adaptogen that has a multitude of positive effects on the human body and mind. It is still commonly used today to treat and support the body’s fight against cancer, kidney disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, asthma, bronchitis, insomnia, chronic fatigue syndrome and stomach ulcers. It has anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor and anti-oxidant effects, all of which support and boost immune system response.
The mushroom is particularly rich in triterpenes, polysaccharides, beta-glucans, steroids, amino acids, alkaloids, nucleosides, vitamins and minerals.
Use: Add a heaped tablespoon (roughly 5g) to a large cup of boiling water. Let the tea brew for about 15 - 20 minutes, add some honey for taste and enjoy!
